Formatting Text

Under the menu Standard you can format a row to be a title or a heading (called section in LyX) or other formats.

The recording below shows how to

• find and view the tutorial
• make a new document, giving it a title and defining an author
• making sections that are numbered or not
• spell check the document and change the language (under Document->Settings)
• view the LaTeX code generated by LyX
• insert numbered and itemized lists, increasing/decreasing the depth of a list-item
• change the separation between paragraphs, change the margins, and change the bullets of an itemized list by using the menu Document->Settings.
• saving the document as .lyx and exporting it to .pdf (PDF(pdflatex))
